How did we end up here?

I have always ben interested in how people found their chosen professions. You often hear that many people don't work in the field that they studied or were trained in. And because I find this fascinating, I thought it would be fun to explain how I got here, through a series of blogposts. Why am I an interpreter? And why did I choose the languages German, Dutch and English?
